Our Garden 2009

This year besides for expanding the garden, we also tried to get it in earlier. Did you know that "last frost" is not a set date. Our first planting was lost to a late frost. Our second planting, the pictures from 4/02, show the peppers, eggplant and squash that we lost. Then we got a last, last frost......hopefully. This year we've expanded to two approx. 4 feet by 16 feet plots.

Currently, for the third planting, in the ground:

    Peppers (4 sweet/1 hot)
  • Red Delicious
  • Habanero
  • Orange Belle II
  • Sweet Banana
  • "The Godfather"
    Tomatoes
  • Big Boy
  • Sun Gold
  • Husky Cherry Red
  • Bonnie Grape
  • Bushsteak
  • Sweet Tangerine
    Eggplant
  • Cresent Moon
  • Purple Rain
    Squash
  • Zucchini - Black Beauty
  • Crookneck
  • Spaghetti
    Misc.
  • Spinach - Bloomsdale
  • Peas - Sugar Snap
  • Melon - Honeydew
Interplanted with our veggies are some Marigold flowers for added color and also to help with pests, as well as a little Dill also for pest purposes.
